Custom Welding

Hi guys, I'm hoping someone will have some experience to share.

As you may know, I'm doing a cg13 conversion on one of my k10's.

Things have been moving slowly, but I am ready to spend money.

I need a custom engine mount fabricated and welded.

Can anyone with experience give me a rough idea of how much to pay?

I honestly have no real idea, I cannot weld, And have never paid to have something like this done.

£150 is the figure I have in mind, but like I say, I have no idea if this is too much or too little.

Getting quotes isn't the answer. Why is it Frank gets things cheaper than expected.... Its because he knows what he is talking about. I'd like to know what I am talking about, so to speak :)

cheers.

if you want a cut-n-shut (1/2 k10, 1/2 k11) one welded together, £30 ? (for the welding).
if your having one made from scratch, £100+ ?

I will have to pay for someone to bring the required welding gear to my house (no trailer).

I think a k10 mount will about fit.

How much would you budget frank

i doubt there are many mobile fabricators about, cant you have some brackets made and bolt them into position (temp), then get them welded fully at a garage (when the car is finished) ?

short answer: yes I could do that.

So assuming I have the correct mount fixed in the correct place (with epoxy or something), how much should a mobile welder charge to make a good job of it?
