Charlie

Only good news for the moment is I've finally got a new brake servo and master cylinder thanks to Mark.. weather and time permitting that'll be fitted next weekend in time for JAE

Now for some slightly bad news.. my front nismo splitter has got quite a bad crack in the fibreglass which I'm not going to be able to fix anytime soon

Must admit I'm tempted by a 3d printer myself, but I'd only end up making really useless tat

just like any specialised expensive tool, the printer is only useful to those who have sufficient knowledge, skill, resources and alot of patience in building, rebuilding, tweaking, yet more re-building and operating the machine and more importantly have a purposeful need for one.
it's just like building a car, aircraft, swiss watch etc
the better it's built/designed/operated, the more accurate/faster/reliable it'll work.

if the user just uses it for just building afew pre-modelled useless artifacts from an online database, it's an expensive toy that soon gets boring.

the real power of the printer comes in when the user needs to make a replacement part for something. u measure/design/model it, print & refine the part and then use it to fix stuff. it is a "rapid prototype machine" end of the day

Had a chance to use Jamie's datascan today

Been a while since I've updated this properly,

Two weeks ago I had total brake failure as a result of a rear slave cylinder going pop, so fixed that.

But other than that it's been plain boring motoring

I have however finally got hold of a couple of new (well new to me) jdm bits

Decided I don't like the Nismo grill.. and I may sell Charlie, not enjoying her anywhere near as much as I use to. I think it's because I've owned/driven so many different cars, I just don't get the same enjoyment

Bit of an update

8-1-16
Went to Tesco for some food, went back to the car and nothing cracks but doesn't fire, phoned AA to recover me and the the mechanic thinks it could be the fuel pump cause you can't hear it priming

9-1-16
After much searching I found my spare working fuel pump, swapped and still nothing, did a bit of online searching and the possibility of the relay comes up.. luckily Jamie (a friend) lives just up the road, so a quick text and lift to work for him and I have two spare blue relays.. get back to Charlie anndd bugger I needed a green relay.. gave up and went home

10-1-16
After spending most of the Saturday night diagnosing a fault I can't check some old threads here point to the dizzy cap and rotor, so I think **** it what's the worst that can happen and swap the complete dizzzy for a good one.. still nothing

That brings us up to today and Charlie is still sat at work with an almost dead battery and unable to fire.

With Charlie dead I've had to buy myself a new run around, so now have an EJ9

Tom likes this :)

real sweet it's like the moany kid you have to drag home balling his eyes out. ..Some them missed the golden age in school. The cane sticks the slipper.teacher flinging books in you mates head was hilarious. aaaaah them days are sorely missed :)

And she's alive again, long story short it turns out the knackered alarm was an immobilser as well and was stopping the fuel pump relay from receiving 12v

Haha clean don't be silly, she's not been washed since I broke the "fog" lamp and that was only half a job

As for parts there isn't really anything she needs, cheers for the offer though

Bit of an update, she's back in daily use although I am missing pas so may look into retrofitting it, almost got the exhaust hanging properly just need to sort the over axle bend to stop it banging on the axle over bumps but at least it's not vibrating on the front arb anymore aannndddd finally bypassed the dim/dip system so now both headlights are working

There is still a massive list of things I want to sort but I have better things to do in life so they'll get sorted when they're sorted
