Cats

Hi all, Just found out that my micra was registered early 1993 so will need a cat for the MOT but I was looking at the system and it looks like there is 2 cats in the system. It look like a canister type 1 straight after the exhaust manifold and then a box one further down. Reason I think its a cat is because there are heat shields all the way to it. Can anyone confirm this for me. (Y)

Also does anyone know how you can tell when the car was built using the vin plate? I would love to find that this k10 was made late 92 but not registered till 93.

the chamber after the exhaust manifold is a cat and so is the box in the middle underneath the car, i think cars after 1992 have them although mine didnt need it for the MOT being on a J plate. there is a guide to removing the EGR and cats i think somewhere

yeah i have the guide for removal of the egr system however i think they go on the registration and not the year of manufacture? as mine is 2 months out!! lol
