Brake Lght Sealant

blimey!

well after trying to remove my brake lights, i discovered the joy of the black sealant stuff that is sticking them to my car, how can i remove this stuff?

do i need to heat it up or something?

and where can i buy more of the similar stuff?

it just pulls off but it has to be there otherwise the lights dont seal to car and water leaks into the boot

could replace it with PU sealant from ur local parts place

I just pulled the lights away about 4 inches, and then hacked into it with a snaley knife and rolled the stuff into a sort of sausage shape both on the light and the stuff left on the car.
Taken the lights off a couple of times since then (for tinting and changing etc), and it seems to reform a perfect bond

i found that stuff gets real messy if your not careful.

B&Q roof and gutter sealant does the job to replace it
