A few probs!!

Hi,

55 Plate Micra 1.2 S has a few little problems:

1. There is play on the brake pedal. I.e there is no brakes when I press it a little bit, then when I press a little more it piles on the brakes which make it awkward in traffic.

2. Also there is a groaning/creaking sound below the car around the gearbox area when pulling away and gear changing (could it be the engine mountings?).

What are these problems?, and how do I fix them?

brake pedal will be rear shoe adjustment

groaning could be the release bearing, clutch or gearbox problem (i havent heard of k12's having gearbox failures yet tho)

i know it sound silly but could the groning sound near the gearbox be the heat shield rattleing?
