Not sure if you can do this or not (with the bits you have), but have you corrected the injection for the larger fuel injectors. If its still setup for stock it'll be sending the same amount of fuel as if it had the normal injectors. So you'll be chucking in loads more.

Mine would also close loop like mad, when i let it.

Running very rich will destroy the lambda if you're not careful...wont be doing the engine any favours either. :)

Ive not altered the nistune at all mate, so it will still be running stock map. And if the lambda is shot its brand new so ill be a bit gutted as its all extra money before D-Day, will plug it in next time and see how the car reacts

I think they can take a bit of abuse, cant say how much before they get killed though :)

Lambda will probably be fine...fingers crossed eh.

plugged the lambda in and the cars back to normal, also removed the MAF cover plate and resealed and because i removed the TPS to do so i adjusted it slightly and the car is better to drive as the revs dont drop away during gearchanges but the idle is rather high so unless i can lower it through the allen screw at the rear of the TB ill just have to put the TPS back to where it was before

I have 3 standard manifolds all with lambda sensors in if you want one matey.

Anyway mine runs closed loop on light throttle (motorway) and will fluctuate between 13.5 to 15.5 ish and then will run rich 11.0 to 11.5 on WOT throttle when boosting. I have the boost at about 5psi at moment.

With regards to fuel and MPG im getting about 250 to £50 of V-power and that with me being a bit silly as well.

If anymore problems occur then that would be great rob thanks! And its crazy why mines is running so differently, lower CR perhaps?... And the fuel doesnt bother me as ill have to get used to it once its ready to boost :D

Well last night me and glen got a few more bits done on my car. Firstly an oil catch tank as i was getting little spots of oil below where the breather filter sat. Now when looking at tanks it frustrates me that the two ports are side by side not letting me put a filter straight onto one and the pipe on the other so i removed the RH port, cut the 90 degree elbow from a standard airbox and screwed it in. Was a perfect fit and now im a happy man! I also had to bend the supplied bracket to have it sit the way i want it!

We also got my 255lph fuel pump fitted and i didnt actually scream at the tank screwcap when refitting haha! No photos of this as it was a dirty job lol just it stripped out

Right where do i start? Thursday night around 8 o'clock as i was parking the car reversing i noticed a line of fluid on the road which turned out to be oil so i turned the car off straight away to inspect and seen that it was coming from my temporary bodge of an oil return (it only had to last to the friday as i was doing the proper one! Anyway i couldnt risk driving the car so got a tow from big mikes slaabb up to glens where it was left for a night.

So the next morning glen picked me up, we gathered all my tools etc and headed to his to begin taking the engine out to replace the sump with the right fitting for the oil return pipe, to weld a nut in for the oil temp sensor and to fit my helix clutch and rebuilt gearbox.

The start

You can see on the next pic why the return was leaking, it had slipped off and the jubilee was sitting loose!

Still enough oil for the engine just!

The new sump with oil temp sensor fitted (my welding :p) sprayed matt black also, forgot to take a pic of the new improved oil return!

And we cleaned the areas i couldnt reach previously (needs a respray)

So after that we got it all back together with new oil etc, i also decided not to fit my rebuilt gearbox as the original one was ok beforehand so we fired her up, at first things were ok but noises began to develop. 1 from the power steering pump (in video) then after i took the video the gearbox was making a racket! And to top it off the sump was leaking badly from the tip of the half moon seals, totally confused why it was leaking as id done this loadsa times and cleaned it very well. So gave up for the night and decided to start again fresh on sunday
http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/a467/stani1029/8ef70e56.mp4

So its sunday and once again glen picked me up to take me to his, completely removed the engine and gearbox again (keeping the needed fluids in seperate buckets for reuse.
ffa7e4b6.jpg

Heres the culprit of the leak, the half moon seal looked short but once removed and offered back up it was fine (typical my luck) so was a case of cleaning the joints up again and resealing making sure the seal was positioned better this time!
b13ac6c0.jpg

This time i took no chances and fitted the rebuilt gearbox and we threw it all back together. First startup i was praying there was nothing wrong and my prayers were answered! So let the engine heat up, turnt it off, added wynns engine flush, restarted the car and let run for 15 minutes before turning it off again and doing an oil and filter change.

BUT! I was still yet to drive the car to see if there were any problems there, clutch and gearbox are great just the engine is now cutting out and misfiring occasionally! Will start a new thread to discuss :) overall im happy with the car again and as soon as i overcome this little problem ill be booking the mapping ;)

BONUS PIC: we made dolan a custom micra from glens spare parts (he had a black super-s years ago and misses it)

BIG THANKS TO GLEN :D

Cheers karl!

Well today was my last day off if my long weekend (meant to be spent with the girlfriend and kids) but the micra still wasnt 100% so read for faults codes which showed 55 which means there are none! So i thought it could be the distributor as when we had the engine out i noticed there was oil on the underside but i put it down to spillages. Anyway we tried glens distributor on the car and the car is running great, so off to the scrappies we went to get a replacement :D also phoned up to book mapping but still awaiting a phonecall back, so excited!

pleased for you matey thats its all sorted.

Have had the sump off 3 times on mine and still weeping on the half moon seals! :(

Will be coming off again at the weekend GRRRR

Im using some high temp Loctite gasket maker.

I think ill try something else. Did you put sealent on the rubber half moons too?

i didnt want to go overboard on the sump sealer as i found i tiny bit stuck to the oil pick up from the 1st attempt of sealing!

Ive always put some on the side that meets the sump but not the otherside, however this time it got the works ;) loctite 5980 is what i use and swear by

I was just wondering like youve had so many micras thought you would be a good person to know what set ups work best dont think i could afford your dampers but want some HOL springs soon

Aye your right, well i can honestly say what im running now (the hol springs and spax dampers) there isnt much if any compared to the spax coilovers. Your only paying for height adjustment really. I do plan to get full whiteline once the cars running sweet.

Had a spare 45 mins to get a few bits done

New rear O/S wheel bearing, already replaced this approx a year ago but somehow i think ive done the wrong side :(
(doesnt help being half deaf in one ear trying to trace a noise whilst driving lol)

Eventually got my oil return complete after cutting my original pipe to short in a rush so here was the bodge i had to do on the day and my new pipe, you can also see how i done my sump fitting.

Also tested the pipe/coupling for my maf sensor, just to make sure ive got the right bits. Also just bought the filter and adaptor then its ready to fit/wire in (hope its right!)

Recieved my filter and adaptor today, kinda knew this from the out that it wasnt just going to bolt on. 3 of the bolts lined up good but i needed to cut a slot out the adaptor for the forth to fit. Just got to fit it to the car now aswell as work out the wiring, if anyone can help beforehand on the wiring side of things that'd be great!

Right as per my previous thread regarding my clutch failure. Today was the day i took it apart, had to clear out my garage before doing so. Got my dad to tow me the 200 metres then i thought id try and reverse it in, so iff with the engine, into reverse and fire her up. (me not expecting it to grip) but it did and shot backwards but i manged to steer it in perfect without hitting anything. Put it down to luck! Within 50 minutes i had the gearbox off and clutch out (not bad i must say) and i think i found what the problem was.....

I wonder how its possible to still drive and not make any racket. I seriously thought the clutch plate would be ok LOL

Threw it all back together and im so happy with the results, now i believe jae is on lol

 Thats a special kind of fail lol. You buy it new? try giving them a ring and see what they say, as i wouldnt say thats normal wear and tear. :D

Yeah as the various pieces fell to the ground all i could do was laugh in amazement! Its a helix clutch from matt humphris, bought it in 2008 lol but its not done many miles to be honest, and for the state its in youd think i was trashing the car! I was cruising in 5th at 70mph lol

lol. yeah as you've said seems odd that, that was quiet as it looks like the springs (and most of the others bits) have been eaten up along the way.

I hope mine doesnt do that...

Yeah and im amazed my flywheel wasnt damaged. Not even a scratch! Maybe the clutch was still held together and once i unbolted the pressure plate its made it look worse than it is

Aye suppose thats a possible, as if it was just spining the broken center.

Not sure you could make it look worse than it is though lol. (i know what you mean though. ;) )

Did you change the gearbox too stani ? Maybe a worn shaft bearing that gave too much float on the clutch centre ?

Yeah swapped the gearbox too, the release bearing was stuck on that box because the shaft had been peeled back? So im gonna use this gearbox to practise and learn on :) last time i tried to take one apart just to be curious i couldnt put it back togetherl lol

If the input shaft bearing was goosed, all the load would be taken by the clutch centre eh stani, and would break up like that

Heres my JAE weekend story
http://www.micra.org.uk/threads/stanis-mad-few-days.52956/#post-541259

Yesterday i decided to go over all the wired parts that ive fitted like the central locking/boost controller and wideband eventhough none of which were fitted the last time it happened. Also removed my boost gauge and put the wideband in its place as it saves me looking down and having to lean over the gearknob at certain gears

Well thats me been to alton towers and back to reality :p another 700 miles on the engine now and it sailed it this time round, also on wednesday i handed my injectors in to be cleaned and flow tested before i can book the long awaited mapping. First of all im gonna do a compression test then re-torque the head bolts and do a service while im there :) gearbox isnt sounding too good (a bit like a bird tweeting) anywho heres some piccies

Parked where i can see it

Right went and bought a new compression tester and got £5 off with trade discount from halfords :) tell me if ive done anything wrong or if theres a better way of doing so. Heated up engine, I removed the leads and spark plugs completely, unplugged injectors. Fitted tester and turned engine over at WOT for 4.9-5 seconds approx going by my iphone :p also what do you make of my spark plugs?

All seems even and ok to me so next is re-torque headbolts then change oil and filter. What oil should i use? Was just gonna get more nissan 10/40 tbh
