Update 2 of A few
I made nylon bushes up for my tie rods. Was gonna do poly bushes... but these cost me £12 rather than £50
Turned the end down to 35.5mm

It's the real stuffs :) just waiting for the resin. £120 for metre square which I thought was cheap :)

Arches strengthened and repainted :D

1375779130372.jpg

Then along came the rain... so skipped pictures and hurried the buggery up to finish it. Once the welding was done... The sun came out.. ass hooollleee
So took a picture once I remembered :D
1375779178016.jpg

And yes I've dented it already :(

Finished my tie bars... finally
My lathe is clearly old and tired and wanted new bits here and there. So now its like new I cracked on
Finished my bushes in the same was as the first set
Made stainless steel inserts
1375793416613.jpg

And constructed em all
1375793546853.jpg

1375793573185.jpg

Ruined the paint by not letting it dry and touching it with polyurethane fingers
So resprayed em

Oh and those polyurethane fingers made this

Poly bushed engine mount :D
Still half a day to go too

So I wanted to mount coilovers again, but this time I didn't wanna be chopping em up etc I just wanna buy em and put em on.... so that's exactly what I did... by modifying my axle
Cut the base open and stretched it with a scissor jack
1375814731259.jpg

Tacked plate on
1375814778595.jpg

Now I had my boys outside so I used the mask to cover the welding arc to protect their eyes and welded blind. Didnt do bad I dont think
1375814815471.jpg

Grinder out
1375814884850.jpg

Other cut lines were welded and plated. Its not pretty but its Damn strong
1375814956752.jpg

Didn't plate the top cut was too fussy. So I filled it with weld like a boss
1375815012262.jpg

So welding blind today was entertaining. Wondering how you've just welded your one and only axle up :/ but it turned out ok :)
Forgot to take a final picture... so I'll get one later or tomorrow :)

1376078561929.jpg

Popped the engine out for tomorrow :)
1376078542318.jpg

Get the engine cleaned up a bit more. And repainted
Put the Gti-R hubs and brakes back on. Clean the engine bay up
Then update the hydro handbrake guide after my front brakes are done

you plumbing in all 4 brakes to the handbrake?
Nope but you have to redo em all if your doing it
You need a feed from the master cylinder which on a k10 goes into a splitter. Cant do that without a twin cylinder hydro... which doesnt fit

could you not plumb the master into the h/b yhen h/b into the splitter?

could you not plumb the master into the h/b yhen h/b into the splitter?
Afraid not. As they split opposite.
They're linked front right/rear left and front left/ rear right so they'll split wrong
So you've got to run one of your lines from your cylinder through the hydro thrn split it for the rear

so how do you actually plumb it into the rear?

Well after you've plumbed it from the master cylinder then the handbrake... splitter.. you go tooooo the brakes :p

So update today. After removing my engine last night, coz I can, I decided to do a bit :)
I stripped ancillaries and manifolds off my ga
1376163468510.jpg

Was actually nice and clean :)
Then I got it painted
Green is the new Black yo
Also added my sandwich plate ready for my oil cooler
1376163540960.jpg

Forgot to take any more pictures. But all removed parts were cleaned and were silvered :) including my gearbox
And I rebuilt my engine

I also finished my brake pipes too. Which means time to update the "hydraulic handbrake guide" :)

Just open.. coz racecar :D
I've been considering an oil stat to help bring it up to temp faster on start up... but I got told to use thinner oil.
So I use a 50/50 mix of magnetec and mobil 1 :)

Bought this, tis worth a fair bit to be honest
1376218320888.jpg

That consists of;
An inline fuel filter
A permanent inline fuel pressure gauge
A proper boost referenced fuel pressure regulator (thought it was a standard cheap one)
And finally a malpassi petrol king fuel saver regulator

All for £20 :D
Was debating fetching it. Glad I did. Ade convinced me too

So being where we are Twycross zoo for the kids it is :)

So I was taping up my conduit and got to the dim dip box... then thought that isn't needed as my lights are on my new custom loom.
So I unpicked it all
