Porks bike carbs and boost project

All vac pipes are good, brand new, defiantly all fuel came out.

Unsure as to why fuel went there, unless when it's not on boost, and normal driving, there's vacuum inside the plenum and its being sucked out of pitot tube ?

What's your suggestions people?

Or, float bowls stuck open and pump just Kept pumping fuel out of breathers?

Whatever it is, it's defiantly those pipes where fuel comes out off

Yeah, got boost/ vac gauge

I can't take car on road, no tax/insurance, so it's all on private estate roads, so can't really give it a long un

aye dont give it a long un neil o_O you must have something wrong mate ! its impossible to have fuel going UP the chargepipe with a blowthrough setup

Could it be the BOV being to close to the pitot tube?

So when's its opened, it's sucking fuel out somehow?

Defo sound of the BOV going off, bloke from sfs performance I got it off said it would make a fluttery sound when it's opened

Well, I'm Open to all ideas right now, as I don't like the idea of my intercooler filling up with fuel again!

What sort off boost can I get away with for now?

Still on standard ignition, gunna upgrade to negajolt soon,

Also haven't done muck in way off dropping compression apart from the larger ma12 head

i wouldn't set the boost much at all mate. i would start about 4psi if you can bare in mind standard 4age's on boost can only run about 6psi and thats a lot stronger engine lol. im not sure what the ma10's can take.

Well at the moment, I have no wastegate, it's permently closed, only saw a few psi before it broke yesterday.

Its best to try not to to put any through it as a precaution, afterall the work youve done you dont want any damage. I was 7 months driving normal (at a push i had just under 2psi at some points)

True!

It's just like me tho to get impatient and go all out straight away
May have to put something under accelerator pedal to stop me flooring it. Lol

Got few things to try later to see waft caused fuel spill

Then it's dash out and wire in all gauges once pod had arrived.

Honestly ive been there done that many a time, i didnt mind redoing the engine over and over as time/money wasnt an issue. Its your car so do what you want really :D

Aaaahhh!

More problems.

Went to do a little video, (for Karl lol)

And plenum blew off, tried again and it keeps doing it, so gunna have to re design it.....again!

So got a bit of steel to make a flange up so I can actually screw it to the carbs, instead off jubilee clips

Gunna use old carbs for template and gunna make a cheap version of what this chap had done

Supercharged Cosworth on carbs that looks a little bit tasty!

Sorry to here your having trouble bud sure you/ll get it sorted?

Could you grind some grooves into the airchamber pipes to give them a bit more purchase mate or would that not hold under the boost?

He said he's running 7 psi from the supercharger to the , carbs,
Only real problem he's had is that the throttle butterflies have no seals on them, Between the carburettor housing, so fuel can be forced out

Yeah i was just going to say cable ties ain't gonna cut it when it comes to keeping those pipes on...you'll need some proper clamps :)

haha yeah they aint going to do much dude when i turbo'd the sunny mine blew off cause i didn't tighten the clamp up properly and it wasn't exactly loose either lol same thing happened to my mates gto. did yours go with a seriously loud pop bang type sound? thats what happened to me and there was some people walking past that absolutey crapped themselves :D

Haha, I tried those quickly, the carbs have plastic fittings on top with a thin barb, I thought a thin cable tie might be able to pinch the blue silicone tubes into the barbs coz the clamps ive got are a bit thick.

......but no, it didn't lol

I've tried j-clips and those big clamps that came with intercooler pipes too

This plenum is a bit butchered now anyway from when I first made it, beings I made it before I bought the car, it never fit ! So I've trimmed bits here and there and added a few bends......if anything it's now a good template to work from
