Wheel diameter

hi. I understand that reducing the wheel diameter should increase acceleration but reduce top end. If you change a 1.0 litre micra with 14" wheels to 13" wheels would there be a noticeable difference in the acceleration.
 
No not really that theory is a bit of a misnomer to be honest.
The change is so small you wouldn't even notice it.....you might notice the increased fuel consumption though (!)
 
Not true, it is the tyre size (diameter) which counts. On some events I run 175/50 R13 tyres, and this lower the gearing by about 7% and really helps with acceleration. Micra's in my experience are very sensitive to gearing in relation to the size of tyres.

Should have explained myself better Uno, the fella asked about wheels, I did not take into account the tyre sizes.
