Whats this pipe? pic included

My friend bought some 18mm silicone hosing to use in his engine bay but the company sent him the wrong colour (red instead of blue).Anyway he came round asking did i have any use for it.Popped the bonnet and the only pipe that looked the same size was this one (circled blue)

Held the pipe against this and it looked the same width (whether the inner wall was the same width i have no idea)

Could someone tell me what this pipe is and if the silicone hose would replace this ok?

either an oil feed or a breather hose?? where does it go to?

joins another pipe behind the head shield thingy (sorry not very knowledgable when it comes to engines ) Theres 2 clips either end that hold it on

its a breather pipe ..... comes from ya block

Cool,so would the silicone hose be ok as a replacement?

yes,and you should get a clamp on the other end of the 90 degree off the throttle body

yeah still need to get another jubilee clip for it,just havent gotten round to it
