ahh, it,s just that the stock one does,nt look a bad shape for cutting, 4 circular ports, at 90deg to the head, just the spacing between the ports that might make it awkward eh (would need a different make of carbs, where the throttle shaft could be modified to suit)

year isnt really that important you can use carbs from other bikes as well doesnt have to be cbr carbs. just so happened that the cbr ones were cheap on ebay hence why they were used.

makes some sense but how would you get the angle on the carbs with the ma manifold?
