Tools required

Hi all,

I'm going to be fitted my HOL 60mm springs soon and just wondering if I need any tools apart from the normal socket set, spanners and spring compressors. In the Haynes manual, it says it requires a specific tool to remove the centre damper nut or will a long socket do the job just as well?

Thanks

not really you need to be able to get hold of the shazft through the spring, i use a pair of mole grips as close to the top of the shaft as possible

like this :) compress the spring, then slide the bumpstop down and grip the very top of the shaft

Or, do what I do, pay a local garage a fiver to whiz them off with an impact gun and lightly nip them up, then drive VERY slowly back home :)

It's fine its done up just not TIGHT tight, slow driving is just to be sensible :) Crack off with a socket when you get home easy peasy no pliers required :)
