Tips on spraying alloys...

Hi guys,

Righty, I have enquired at work in the bodyshop to see how much they would charge me for spraying each of my GTi-R alloys... and they said about £40 per wheel!

Basically, I want to spray them myself now. The only problem is I don't know how to prep them for painting. I am good at spraying, but don't know how to prep alloys.

Any spray paint would work wouldn't it?

Does anybody have any tips for me please?

Cheers guys. :)

clean them very well. polish them with a polishing topl (no car polish, i mean as in polishing a head) seal them preferable (not required, but a good route to take) then spray as you would a car :)

then wet flat them as much as u can wityh fairy liquid and LOADS of water :)

watch the shine whack u in the face (unless u want a matt finish of course :p)

firstly use a good strong degreaser. but once its clean from dirt and oil. yes it would be.

when i say clean it meaning that you have removed all grime etc firstly with detergents. and are prepping it for spraying. the cellulose is inexpensive and does not cause paint to react.
