Tip on changing rear break shoes

Hi guys,

any tips on changing the rear break shoes for the drums.

i have not done one before. do you need any special tools? if so which one to get?

any guidance would be great

they,re pretty straight forward if you remove the hub first eeden (220nm nut tho )
they,re a mission if you leave the hub on tho apparently

yes yes they are lol

worse if the brake cylinder has burst...

if you can take the nut off, makes its a million times easier, but yeah, it will be tight, and needs to go back on tight!

While your there might be worth doing rear wheel cylinders depending on age and condition (they are pretty cheap to replace). Would also consider getting the drums machined depending on how much of a lip there is.

so no special tools reqired to take off the spring on the break shoes?

i actually took of the hub once.

no special tools that i can remember, some curved pliers may come in handy to put the springs back on, that's about it though
