now the k11,known on here as 'project fatherandson' is on the road i figured i would create a thread detailing how it was all done(from thought to planning,design,fabricating,and fitting) in case anyone has similar plans,ideas etc they can ask and maybe i can help with it.if not.well at least you got to see a scabby 1.0 profile granny-chariot turn into something more interesting.
a few people asked'why a micra?'.the easy answer is'why not?' it shows a bit of imagination,isnt the run-of-the-mill corsas,saxos,106s that many young drivers own and modify.and if it has a grannys shopper image then isnt it just more of a challenge to shake off that image?and even in 1000cc form the little k11 is no slouch.its nippy,zips in and out of traffic,and is great fun to drive,whereas a 1000cc corsa is really quite,shall we say,pedestrian.

so,over the next few im going to detail what was done,and how.whats still to be done,and what will be done over the next year or so.and you can follow how i took my sons little k11 from this.....

BODYWORK.

well,the drivers side front wing was rotten,so that got changed out for a replacement from a scrapper.
the side indicators on the front wings were binned and the holes welded up.in their place were a pair of led strips.the leds themselves were tinted amber and the lenses were black tinted and then cut into the wings.as far as ive seen its a mod never carried out on any other micra.the antenna on the roof was removed and the hole welded up.

the rear arches were a bit ropey so the brittle metal was cut back and new metal welded in.
side body mouldings were next to go in the bin.along with all the outer badges.
on the bonnet there was a ding where the previous owner shunted it.this got pulled out and then the mounting holes for the nissan badge were welded up.
next up was the tailgate.the wiper mechanism and motor,the grab handle,reg plate lights,all got cut out and a flush panel welded in its place,smoothing the lower tailgate section.later an electric boot release would be grafted in.
