Tail light tinting

I've bought the tinting spray for tinting taillights, I've done two coats so far but it doesn't seem to be going much darker :S
Does it take a while for the tint to take effect (when it's drier?) or do I just need more coats?

Here's the best way to get good results:
Sand with fine sandpaper to rough up the surface
Spray 2 coats
Sand lightly
Spray 2-3 coats
2 Coats of laquer

Always worked perfectly for me and this way you can get them completely black.

I did sand them first, I've got 3 coats on now and leaving it to dry for a while.
I'll check how they are later and if it needs another I'll sand it a bit before adding another layer.

I've masked off the reflectors so they shoudl alright as long as the light still shines through.. I hope. Lol.

You can usually have 1 coat over the reflector

Just been out to check on them, they're starting to look darker now

Once their fully dry I'll sand them back a bit, another coat of tint, then some laquer.
