Sump drain

Where is the best place to put the dump drain?

Between bolt holess a few mm from the top of the sump so it can be dragged through by gravity

i would say so as long as you can still get access to the sump bolts to fasten it on

as long as it's lower than the turbo and it won't interfere with any other plumbing n access to nuts bolts then its fine.

my drain port here is 8cm from the sump top which is right at the dipstick max level

but I recommend no lower than that or else oil will pour out when eg. you only wanna remove the turbo

I'll also note that my scew-together fixings tended to leak even with sealant cos the hot thin oil always finds the smallest weakest pin hole. getting noddie to weld the bung onto the sump fixed all that.

Have you got a pic of your sump Paul?

I was going to bolt and weld it in place, not sure how it interferes with the turbo as I haven't got a complete one to test it with, but seeing how the exhaust housing sits it shouldn't be a problem

here,s mine karl, the CGA3 longer stroke crank slightly hit it from inside tho

Mine doesn't have anything protruding into the sump so that shouldn't be a problem
