Strange noise

I've been driving my micra about, and I've noticed a high pitch whiring which follows the revs (higher pitch the higher the revs) it's more noticable at high revs.

I don't know how to describe it exactly, except that it sounds a bit like a camera flash charging up, and some of the cars you see on the films.

Any ideas? is it normal? It actually sounds kinda good...

Also, check the earths of your stereo! Make sure you have preferably one good clean earth, instead of several.

Also, make sure your alternator has a supressor attached. They can break / fall off with time

Wow, quick responses!

I don't think it's coming from the speakers, but I'll have another check.

What's a supressor look like?

Can the flywheel make noises like that?

Cylinder (sp) shape, bout an inch long with a cable coming from it. Probably silver too. You can get replacements from frauds etc

Does it go away when you depress the clutch? K11 clutch release bearings are typical for being whistley - mine does it.
