Stiff accelerator

Is this normal on the K11? Never noticed it I'm my x's S reg or a brand new curtousy car?

My wife's k11 has a stiff gas pedal. Don't know if its normal or not.

I vaguely remember my K11 being in for a service a few years ago and when I got it back, they said they'd replaced the accelerator cable as it was a known issue. The pedal had always been a bit graunchy but it was perfect with the new cable .
