static from the speakers

right, i've had my k10 for about 5 months now, and when i got it i installed some jvc 6 by 9s in the parcel shelve.

every now and then when playing some cd's i get a static sound and it happens some times when i turn the bass on as well

can some one explain why this is

ive installed them correctly to the head unit and the wires to the speakers

please help

The static sounds like distortion to me, which could mean something is nackered. For a start, head units are only good for about 15w rms. Im guessing your 6x9's are 80w rms. I think you should have had them connected up to an amplifier!

i've got an mate selling a infinity basslink for £20 but with out the wire's , might get that off him, and buy an amp wiring kit from some were.

Well the damage may already be done fella, bear that in mind!

I highly recommend the Alpine MRP-T130 Amp. Able to power 2x 90w speakers. I've got two in my car!

yes it sounds like they might be already damaged as all the amp would do is give you a better quality sounds etc.

And allow you to cane them without causing this to happen! Mine have had 4 years of abuse - still going strong

will look in to get a new setup, need to leave it till next month after getting curtis alloys and two new side wings off mental dude
