squeaky rattling rear hatch

Had an issue with a squeaky rattling rear hatch that was driving me mad over the last few months and I could not find out where or what was causing it but finaly found out the problem last night. Where the latch locks onto the striker it must move around a bit which makes the horrid noise and lubing it made it worse so to fix it just tightly wrap electical tape aound it to cove the metal and no more squeaky rattling rear hatch

Are the mounts of the striker slotted for adjustment?

If so, you may be able to adjust the mounting position to seat firmly.

I've seen door strikers that were adjustable position, not looked at hatches before.

adjust the latch with a 10mm socket bit and then but some tape around it as well, that will fix it!

just dont make it too tight or too much tape or the latch won't pop proberly when you hit the lever, something to keep in mind
