squarepants micra blog

custom raceworx back box today :p well just a bit of pipe with a trim on the end lol, sounds a bit louder than standard, so not too loud or too quite, you can still hear the air filter, but the exhaust has a small but nice rasp to it, the exhaust comes out very slightly angled to the left, anyways big thanks to mr ian raceworx on this :p

not too loud? with no back box at all? i guess you still run both cats then?
i would have expected to be defeaned with no back box!

I didn't realise Laser made trims and backboxes, I have a full Laser backbox for the mera that looks very similar to that!

yearh lol, thought mine was a back box at first glance when looking around the car before buying it :p then i found out laser did trims aswell, oh yes ems its legal ;) bear in mine still running both cats and a silancer, it doesnt really effect anything apart from a nicer sound. should sound better once coked up :)

dont really want to paint them 1, carnt be arsed 2, the cost of paint, 3 the paint on the front splitter may crack (as tommos did)

lol yearh, i wouldnt mind that but, i would at the same time lol as said the whole point in modding a car is to make it look diffrent to other....i think if the skirts do go on the bodywork will be finished apart from tints. then its at a stage iam happy with it.

Damn!!!!!!!! thats looking lush!!!!! do like those skirts......simple yet 100% effective!!!!

well done mate (Y)!!!!!!!!! looks tip top!!!
any plans for the rear bumper now?

dont know about the rear bumper, may just leave the mud flaps on. i was thinking of putting a splitter on the rear....but imo it doesnt look right on the facelift bumpers. iam in two minds if to take off the rear flaps or leave them on lol not sure.

Does it actually make that much diff? Should you mesh the end? As your bound to get some juicy bugs up there!! :D

its probs will make a very very small diff, but not noticiable...no no need to mesh the end as if bugs do go up it the filter is there to stop them entering the tb.

really small update, just got back from JAE and it was awsome, anywho the mud flaps have just been taken off.....also the cars pass front wheel bearing needs replacing, i took my advan stickers off yesterday, and put some msc ones on the wings, i even re-placed the rear number light bulb as the old one was a bit dodgey sometimes, new one seems fine, oh and also the back box is (well the bit of pipe thats its been re-placed with) blowing and the hanger weld was broke (hanger goes under and around the pipe so its not dropping off but keeps moving posion:

looking good.

If i were you i'd find a prefacelift boot handle, get it sprayed up and swap it over a fully debadged back (Y)

i have thought about a pre-facelift boot handle, but tbh iam not sure as i dont think they look right on a facelift...also iam proud to wear the nissan badge lol. if i was to put a pre-facelift one on the front would look odd with a badge on. oh and i carnt really be arsed to paint anymore stuff lol. have you seen the state of the door handles!? halfords paint is a pants colour match, but nissan paint is a fourtune!

Oh by the way mate, you might wanna replace the cigarette lighter fuse, your 15A one was blown and the spare 15A was missing, we needed the karaoke files so we put your spare 20A one in it's place as a stop-gap, sorry we didn't tell you

I'm with you on this, I have never seen the attraction of a prefacelift handle, I just think they would look a bit odd on a later one, can;t make up my mind whether to try an earlier one on mine or not :/

James.

yea so the reason u dont use it is because they trake a while to get it not because its a fortune

im sure they have it in stock normally... if not it takes a few days 2 come

well i also asummed it would be a fourtune ;) my dad said that paints from dealers cost a bit more.. thats what i was lead to belive.

update:

did some raceworx triangles with abit of a nismo coloured twist (not in the nismo colur order tho lol)....one on the front above pass headlight and one on the boot drivers side....

also made some rear spats for the rear bumper.... not the best things in the world lol, pics dont do juctice...

BIG update!

nissan sunny gtir calipers fitted, with brembo 254mm grooved discs and braided goodridge hoses these were off jo and jhons turbo k11 and on raceworx red, blue and green k11s and still going strong!....stopping is awsome! only proplem is that they have cheapo normal pads (witch wont last long) as the local motor factors didnt have any uprated sunny ones in. also painted rear drums black, and put on some light weight wheel nuts.

yes lol, but on the old ones i had to borrow swipers locking wheel key as the my car never had one....the light weight ones are all locking, so one key for them all ;)

yummmm.....tasty!!!!! lol!!

look good! infact the silver beast from the west (lol) is still looking the business mate!!!!!

naps

also sorted out the cold airfeed (was sloping down) and sorted the exhaust blowing, just need to cut away the bumper abit more as its knocking.

waxoiled the sills inside and out today, also gave the cross member a quick blast, oh and i took them stupid rear spats off, so looks less gay now :p just need to paint front calipers sometime this or next week...just want some more 15's to replace the small 14's ;)

p.s ems the exhaust sits angled for looks, but really its a pants fit so sits like that wether i like it or not :p

Ooooh!!! ok!! :p

How did you do the inside of the sills? I might be doing them as mine are spotless atm!! :)

take out the interoir rear 1/4 panels, take off the parcelshelf holders (at the sides) then put the seats down and unclip the rear 1/4 panels (carfull tho) you should just work your way along while doing it like i did.

It took me about 2 hours to waxoyl my sills, it can be messy though, if you're doing it on your drive then I would recommend putting a plastic sheet under the car.

Well, i asked mainly because i am going to do it. But, as you have probably noticed, the sills have two rubber/plastic grommets under each side, one at the front and one in the middle. The main place they'll rust is at the back!! so my dad and a mechanic he knows said to drill a third hole at the back, fill with waxoil and then replace with a nice new bung!!

Anyone done it?!!! It def sounds easier than what you did Squarepants!!
