speedo drive

Just wondering is it possible to change from a electronic speedo pick up on the box to an mechanical drive ?

A few Honda's I've worked on they have been a straight swap, not sure on micras :-/

i'm guessing it prob requires swapping the instru cluster, speedo gear pinion and maybe the loom or swap connector pins if the wiring's different between elec & mech clusters

You missed the question there, he wants to know if the older mechanical speedo drive will fit into a gearbox that has an electronic drive fitted as standard?

It's just the Pinion I'm worried about, will have to strip the box and investigate.

i would have thought the drives are interchangable personally, i,ve not seen anyone post on here that they changed a g/box and had a speedo problem

ah gotcha.
well, when i was swapping my mechanical speedo pinion into my spare gearbox which had an electronic one, it was bout 1mm too big so had to file it down abit to slot in
