Speedo Drive removal

Right Ive tried everything now, am I missing a trick? remove the cable, unscrew the reatining bolt, pull out. Thats what Mr Haynes has told me but it just wont budge!

Any ideas??

before pulling it out, try to tap the side of the cap lip, where the 10mm bolt goes through, to turn and loosen it off the gearbox by 10deg anti-clock, then hold the lip and pull it out

Try'd it earlier no sucess. Is it easy to break then?

yours should have a level plug anyway joe, its only the pre-98 1.0,s (type 41) g/box that had to be filled via the speedo drive

cba joe lol a square plug 1/2 way up the casing (behind the rad)
mine,s a type 41 anyway
