speedo stuck within gearbox

Whilst doing my girlfriends clutch today changed it no bother not problem ,them i cam to topping the oil back up after bolting the box back in and putting the drive shafts back on and lower control arm bolt back went to remove the speedo and found it to be suck solid ,so i went to drift it to the side and the tab which retains it to the box snapped, then i place the speed cable nut back on and gave it a pull with some better grip and the whole thread snapped off, so am stuck with no speed and i had to fill up 3 litre of oil through the breather !!! :down: does and one have a technique to remove it without taken the boc back out thanks

just try soaking it in wd40, i bet you can't get a hammer down there.

i know i wish i had checked it first its a ackward place to get some purchase on

try some mole grips, there's a small amount of room on the left as you look from front. but soak it first because it's the alloy that corrodes into the box.
