Seatbelt help?

Ok, my friend was in my car yesterday, and.. Well, he broke the seatbelt!

Whats happened is, the buckle doesn't stay in the... Holder thing?

Sorry, interiors aren't my forte :p

Will I need to take this into the garage, or can I fix it at home?

OR! Is it a new seat thing? I did notice the holder is attached to the seat..

Thank you,
Chris

haha no you dont need a new seat, you might have to unbolt it from the car though (4 bolts underneath) then unbolt the seatbelt holder. I got mine out of a scrap car.

Hah! Great.. So If I found a decent one at scrappy, I can just swap it straight over?

Saved me a few quid there :p

Though, I was thinkin about replacing the seats with something I wont fall out of! :p

yeah should be a straight swap, I smashed mine to pieces whilst stripping the car out by mistake, so I re-used the rear seatbelts instead.

i had the same problem as you

u dont have to remove the seat....which saves a lot of hassle!!!

just undo the one seatbelt bolt and thats it.

you then unclip the "two plastic covers" that the seatbelt clip is made up from.

you should now be looking at the mechanisium!!

what i found was the "spring" had jumped off its "metal holder" and just needed "re-sitting"

will save you some money if u dont go scrap yard

Help!!!

OK, I have removd th stalk.. Now.. I need to separate the plastic casing.. But how do I do it?!!

Screwdrivers and brute force dont seem to be working!!! :p

Anyone got any idea?

Chris

Hehe! Awh... Thought you said it was an accident :p

Wheres that Napster kid when u need him!!

haha lol.....not sure it would be fair if i was on MSC 24/7 lol

did you fix it or need a hand?

sorry
(P.S...not really a kid lol )

haha lol

well so far fixing the seat belt is still paying off!!!

i didnt glue anything etc, just re-attached the spring into its housing!!!

the plastic casing was hard at first but get a screwdriver and lever at the corners....GENTLY!!!!

i was going to swap the drivers one for one in the rear, and then get another from a scrap, but i thought i would see if i could fix it, and i think i have lol.

depends what ur problem is with the seat belt clip
