seam welding k11

In my escort mk1 and 11 boy racer days we found seam welding and gusseting chassis/body vastly improved rigidity of sheell and handling.Has anyone any experience of this being done on a k11.This will be in addition to lowering and better wheels and tyres?

I know someone who has done this to their supercharged roll caged track K11, He had all the chassis complimentary bits i.e. whiteline bushes, front and rear torsion braces etc he said the trick is to use low power setting on the MIG's other wise you'd burn through the damn car!

Matt Humphris seems to believe that the K11 shell is pretty strong anyway, and a lot of the rally lads don't seam weld.
