Rubber stopper on pedals.

Okay so it's well established that the rubber stopper on the brake pedal disintegrates and causes the brake lights to not turn off and it is known that it can be replaced with a similar stopper or a bolt or in one case apparantly a zip tie.

I assume there's a similar stopper on the clutch pedal as I have found new (old) bits of rubber floating around my feet after my clutch cable snapped. What is this stopper for and do I need to replace it now that it too has broken down?

you can adjust the brake pedal to rest higher/closer to the switch via where the pedal bracket is screwed onto the master cylinder shaft and/or you could bend the switch bracket closer with pliers/adjustable spanner

on some older k11 i think the clutch pedal had an isolator switch for the starter so you'd have to press the clutch before starting, like the Park switch on an auto
