Rub strips

Im trying to go for the smoothed look on my micra but ive got the black rub strips down each door and I want to get rid of them, does any one know what they are attached with and how to get them off. And is there a row of holes underneath.

no holes underneath, use a caramel wheel to remove the sticky goup,

Oh if the car has had a respray / accident repair in its life, its liklely they didn't remove the rub strips when painting (like my car) which means it will look foul / ulgy / yuk if you take them off and see the old paint if a different shade of white to the rest of the door,

it may work if you use one of those plastic filler spreaders, with the use of some thinners, keep rubbing it with thinners and then use the scrapper to get rid of the sticky mess.
remember to wipe the scrapper other wise you may find yourself putting the sticky stuff back on the car againg lol : )
