Removing the fuel filter

I was trying to get the fuel filter off in my K11 yesterday and not having much luck.

Simple enough job - undo the jubilee clips and pull. But she ain't comin!

Any hints/tips or do I just go back and apply brute force until the fuel line splits and I swear a lot :upside: (or the filter comes off?!)

Cheers

mine was not coming off even after i took of the jubilee clips, so i little snip and it was off, you can get away with taking off alittle bit of pipe :)

you need some pliers to hold onto the pipe and twist it off.

If you do it too hard you will puncture the rubber pipe.

Expect some fuel to try and escape whlie youre at it...so either clamp the pipe first, or just get everything ready for a quick swap over.

thats what i did. also used some wd40 to help it abit.

takes alot of messin around with, good 30 mins sometimes, and alot of fuel can escape, make sure u do the fuel pump fuse trick to de-pressurise the fuel system first!

Cheers for the advice, everyone.

I hadn't thought of cutting it off! The lines are quite tight (it's a bit difficult to manouevre and get access to the jubilee screws at the moment), so I'll try and not cut it off - at least I know it's been a pain for other people and I'm not just doing something silly!
