Rear Axle sway bar bracket rust fix?

Hi

First post here so please be gentle!

I've just bought my first Micra, an 02 reg 1.0 litre S model. I bought it as a fixer-upper/runabout but admit I've become a bit smitten by the car. I'm working few a few MOT jobs but need a bit of advice on one.

The bracket where the rear stabilizer bar/Panhard rod attatches to the rear axle is rusted thin. Is this a common thing and what's the best fix? Does anyone manufacturer a repair piece? Should I make a new bracket or just plate what's there? Any advice welcome!

Matt Humphris sells kits you can weld on to the axle.

All passed and running sweetly. Took it on a good run the other day and it's turning 48mpg. It may be tatty but I love it...all is good.
