Right, the car starts now and isnt missfiring constantly, but intermittently, also when i take my foot off the accelerator the car jerks like mad, i have no ideas what this problem could be, i have litteraly just changed plugs, leads, rota arm and distributor cap any one got any ideas what so ever on this problem, any help is much appriciated

can you clarify jerks like mad, is it down to the engine or the car itself ?

when you leave off the revs its like the cars about to stall, like when your a learner and dont pull away proplery and the car goes mad (kangaroo petrol).

my money is still on the crank angle sensor or coil

the coil and distributor are in one unit arnt they, whats the crank angle sensor and where is it and is it easily replaced ??

try a different distributor and see if that sorts it.
