Possible NATS solution

I'm about to do a 1.0 - 1.3 swap. While searching for engines, the annoying NATS issue keeps popping up, untill today.

Just spoke to the scrappy guy, who said all i have to do to overcome the 1.3 ecu/nats prob is take the chip out of the doner car key and stick it in my key. That way i can have the replacement engines' ecu without being imobilised.

Sounds far too simple to me.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

It is possible I guess, hopefully the scrappy has the donor key.

Perhaps getting the barrel from the donor car would be better, then you wouldnt have to mash up the key to remove and replace the chip as I think its melted into the plastic.

If you can find a 1.3 non NATS then its possible the ECU will work in a NATS car. I need one to prove this tho!
