Pollen filter alternatives.

Hi all

I need to know whether there are alternative materials that I can use, instead of selling a kidney to buy a new one.

I have blown it out with compressed air, and I have now washed it with soap and water. I have my doubts on how effective it will be, but a new one will cost me as much as the service. The local Nissan spares are wrapped in platinum tissue paper If you go on the cost. I want to know if I can make my own, or if anyone can tell me what type of paper to use.

Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Ummmm. The big problem is that I am in South Africa and my model is imported from the UK. Great car, but the exchange rate is about 20 to one.
so anything other than the mechanical parts supplied by Renault is hellishly expensive.

I can keep aeroplanes in the sky, so I reckon I can make my own filter, I just need to find out what material it is made from. At the moment I am looking at vacuum cleaner elements.

Experimenting is called for.

Cheers
