play in the wheel

hi,
right my hub hads a bit of play when the wheel off the ground u can move it up and down slightly, It only looks like the middle is moving where the cv joint is, Is
it the wheel bearing?

it sounds like it, but you need to get underneath with a leadlamp and get someone to rock the wheel up and down really :)
 
which bolt ya saying?

if its the lower balljoint that keeps spinning then the thread could be dirty thus jamming against the balljoint shaft and just making it spin. essential to wirebrush, retap and lube that thread when bolting the balljoint to the hub.

if its the big central hub nut, you'll need to ask someone to press the brake to lock the hub then tighten the hub nut to spec
 
i just look at it, this time the shock was loose there u bolt it onto the hub.
did it cum loose coz of the wheel bearing was loose

According to Autodata it should be:
148-205 Nm for front hub (Drive)
98-117 Nm for wheel nuts.
Normally I set my torque wrench to 110 Nm for Road wheels(Y)


If the hub to shock bolts have come loose then the lock nut portion of the nut is shot. REPLACE AT ALL COSTS.:wow::suspect::suspect:
