petrol leaking form uner the car

we have a March k11 built in 1996

My wife filled the tank today and some petrol was leaking UNDER the car. Now it seems to have stopped she said.

What are your advises? ignore? look for holes...but if the hole is on top of the tank...not easy to see/reach?

or simply avoid to have a full tank...as it seems to leak when full only?

have you heard about flaws in the tank? is there an overflow pipe in a tank?

Actually my wife foudn a japanese web site from Nissan and she entered the chassis number and it is a know flaw.

Now I purchased the car from an car import company In Ireland ( not official Nissan Dealer) and they would not fix it for free.

so what shoudl I do? go to an official dealer, and the dealer would get the money back from Nissan Ireland?...so I would need to pay nothing?

I'll of course ring a dealer...but want to anticipate in case they refuse and would like to know if it happened to you so I am ready to fight.

You need to enter your chassis number.

this recall for leaky tanks was made on march 2007 only!
surprising as it is more than 10 years after being produced.

Nota Bene - 1996 is year Heisei 8 in Japan
1997 is heisei 9 and so on
