Painting reflector edges - high heat paint?

How hot do the headlight reflectors get? I'm looking to paint the edges black like on my old Micra. Then, I used a high heat spray. This time I want to brush it on though, as the masking tape pulled the silver off when I removed it.

Can I just use, say, Hammerite or does it have to be high heat? What about black radiator paint?

You can't paint the reflector itself, the surrounding fake chrome can be painted with anything, i did the inside of my lights with gloss black, it keeps some off the reflecting for the indicators.
