No 1st gear in automatic k11

I have recently got a 2002 k11 automatic micra that has trouble going into 1st gear you have to rev the engine to get it to engage but after that it runs and changes up and down fine the ATF fluid level is fine anyone have any idea what could cause the problem and how to fix please
