micra to mx-5 engine conversion?

hi all,
i've been thinking of an mx-5 lump in my 93 micra with RWD.
my plan is to cut the floor pan and weld the mx floor pan in the micra, or just drop everything from the mx-5.
i know there will be hell of a lot to do because their not exactly the same size.
just would like some help! :S
if anyone has any ideas why it wouldnt work??? or any ideas to make it easier???
cheers!

the hardest bit would probably be mounting the rear suspension (and insuring it fwn)
and i was,nt impressed by the mx5 i raced with at mallory park

Get on there. Read all you can about the implications of SVA and the wide variety of hoops that must be jumped through to register a car with a modified monocoque. Then decide if you are going to start this project.

owning both a micra and a mx5 id say it would be a mission. mounting the rear suspension would be a massive job in it self and also you would probably need to shorten the prop and ppf. theres also the fact the engines are really quite bulky meaning it might not fit in the bay and even if it did the blocks are steel took me and 2 mates to lift a 1.6 the other day....that weight would completely mess up the handling
