Hello all,

My first post, and a boring one to start with..!

Our Micra's Nissan Warranty will expire in September, and I'm just thinking about extending it, either with Nissan or a 3rd party supplier.

Does this seem like a good plan, or am I wasting good money?

We've had no issues to speak of, and it seems like a hugely reliable car.

Your thoughts would be appreciated..!

Kuro.

I think the Nissan figures are around £400 for two years...

Warranty Direct is nearer £150 for a year...

before you decide on anything ask for a copy of what is covered, read it and then read it again. You may find certain expensive things may not be covered.

based on the price alone which is only £50 more a year at the dealer i would opt for the main dealer, they would know more about your car than anybody else.
based on reliability i assume your car is only 3 years old, it is still relatively new (same as mine) and i dont expect the engine to drop or anything major to happen in the next year or two. as long as you keep it serviced, look after it, you shouldnt need extended warranty. (i cannot be held responsible)

i thought of this before and i left it. like the guys said do read through what is covered if it is something that's rarely occur then no.
