Micra in Malta

Hi all :) Thought I'd share my new project with you.

Just bought a K11 Super S (1 of only 3 ever imported into Malta). She's been in dry storage for a while, so my project is to get the thing back onto the road first, then modify. For those who have never been to Malta, our roads are waaay worse then UK ones, so I'm not planning any belly scraping stances considering shes my daily driver. I'm planning on going with JDM/OEM+ looks, any suggestions on mods are welcome :)

A good wash, Tax and VRT (Malta's equivalent of an MOT) and it's back on the road :)

Kept the hubcaps at home as they are thief magnets in Malta, planing on changing the wheels anyway

Badge came off in my had on the first day, so that's at home waiting to be fixed as well

Door strips were coming off, so just removed them completely. Think it looks better like this :D

The advantage of Malta's dry climate, 18 years on the road and not a hint of rust on the front crossmember :)

Good condition as it looks to be a phase 1 -93 to 96-. Those first gen super s alloys seems to all have lost their center cover caps? Factory problem? I think I've never seen one with the 4 center caps :)
March and micra seems to have been massively imported in malta, you even have your own forum and meets (seen on youtube)
Welcome !

Seb thanks for the welcome :) Yes Micras are a fairly common sight in Malta, but only 3 Super S ever made it here. The car is in fact a 94 model, I have all 4 center caps at home, but haven't fitted them as EVERYTHING gets stolen in Malta. Planning on getting some new alloys and keeping the factory ones safe at home. :D

really clean :) lower it 35mm, some 14inch or 15inch alloys in black, oem wind deflectors, paint the inside of headlights black some kind of exhaust on there aswell. theres some ideas for you :)

pretty much exactly what I was planning, except the lowering. Maltese roads are far worse than UK ones and anything that agressive would mean I can't use her as a daily driver anymore. I've been thinking about a slight drop, around 15mm, but not sure what springs I can use to get that :/

::UPDATE::

Fixed the slightly leaky cooling system with a reconditioned water jacket from a breakers yard (Didn't pay anything for it :D). Next up, new C.V. Joint bellows and new belts :)

Couple of JAP's get a bit of TLC :)

Hehe I can understand JDMmicra, because I was affraid to lower it because of roads in Corsica , they must be similar to Malta ones, but with the Apex -35mm springs you should not have troubles like said Squarepants, only less boat effect when taking bends and better look :)

::UPDATE::

Okay so it's not exactly build related, but entertaining none the less.
Decided to have a bit of a play with the Micra at a local go kart track, which was HUGE fun :D. On the way home, got into a bit of 'competitive driving' with a MkIV Golf, only to blast by a police car coming out of a sidestreet.

With the Super S being so rare in Malta, Mr blues and tunes just couldn't believe I had gotten that sort of speed out of a humble Micra, which at least gave a comic turn to getting pulled over and given a ticket. . .

:D nice car!!! I was in malta for a couple of days in june, I saw toyota starlet everywhere xD and only a March near Paceville, but it was full OEM.
keep tune on your micra, is a really funny car to drive with some touches on suspension, brakes and exhaust. (you are lucky that in malta you can modified and pass the MOT, here in italy, law is very restrictive about modifying your car, i have 15" wheels on my k11, here i'm outlaw... :p )

Thanks for kind words :) Yes Malta is very lucky here almost everything with wheels passes MOT. Micras are getting rare in Malta I get stopped by people asking me if it is a Starlet Glanza. So it Itlay u can't make wheels bigger? :O I am planning on fitting 15s to mine

Was supposed to write part of my thesis this morning, but got bored so decided to give the Micra good valet instead. Results turned out just as satisfying :D

I can make wheels bigger, but it's a long, boring and expensive thing...
