I must say though, I borrowed an Almera Gti for a short period of time. Very boring, despite me thinking it would be exciting for a boosted car

I thought that being 2 litre turbo, it would be quick and fairly exhilerating. But I discovered that breaking my ankle when I was a teenager was more exciting. Arguing with me ex girlfriend, that was an adrenaline rush. But the Almera Gti? It's got no soul, I get the same thing from riding Hondas - they're quick, well built. But they just don't give you that awesome feeling you get from driving, say, a boosted 200SX, or riding a motorbike with a supercharger.
 
Just riding a motorbike is more exciting, my friends volvo s40 t4 is more exciting come to think about getting attacked by a boxer (dog) whist on my rollerblades was more exciting

Pretty much, and they do look fairly awful as well. Susan Boyle is better looking than a 3-door Almera :laugh:

I'll probably get shot if there's someone on here with one :laugh:. Each to their own and all that :wasntme:

They can be made to look good and I do like the look of the gti's but mine is a prov spec so as a first one it hasn't impressed, the thing that makes mine really boring is the 1.4 engine

heavy car + small engine = EPIC fail

There's an obvious mistake here, dan thought an almera gti is boring for a boosted car, that'll be because Nissan forgot to put the turbo on! Almeras gtis are sr20de :)
 
I dont understand why an almera gti is being slagged. I had one and it was ####ing brilliant, as for looks never heard anyone say a bad thing about it! A standard one compared to a standard micra is 10 times better. Micras are terribly slow!!

I wasn't talking about gtis they're fine it was my bogo 1400cc I was on about, I just commented on dan saying gtis are slow for a turbo car, but they aren't a turbo car

Martin - aha, but this one was boosted by the previous owner, but I think they made a hash of it :laugh:.

Personally, if someone gave me an Almera, I wouldn't say no. I'd see it as a project. But if it were being bought with my own money, I'd walk straight past it and buy the 200SX instead :grinning:

I probably should have put that then :p. But I was tired. I always used to think they were turboed as standard, didn't realise they weren't until I borrowed that one, and the owner told me they were N/A as standard
