K11 Vs Impreza

Seems to be causing quite a stir on the forums.

Just shows that you can never under estimate anything.

HAIL TO THE MICRAS!!!!

finally its not corsa vs micra its little cars vs big cars and oooh look micras win :D :D :D

made my day ;)

could this be the link i put in there?! it might be it might not be i cant get it to work at work dont actually think it is i think!!

anyway its about time lil cars stuk together

some chap emailed me that asking me what was in it! it's a good video but I don't think the scooby was racing - more a camera car...

you have to remember, thats almost a 400bhp car, and weighs about 800KG. So thats around 500bhp/ton. I'm not sure how much a scooby weighs, but its bhp/ton is probably around half of the micra.

A P1 Imprezza has 276bhp and weighs 1295kg according to Parkers.

It also says that it will hit 60 in 4.6 secs. That works out as 213bhp per ton.

Little Bandit is 455bhp per ton roughly. Yes that is more than double but...

Remember a Subaru is also 4WD and has been designed and manufactured to go fast. Daves car originally was not, he has put time and effort in to make it that fast.

It just shows a good comparison of how fast the wee car really is.

The car weighs 680 kgs with a full tank of fuel (measured at weighbridge at my old work)

Made 374.5 HP @ DASTEK.

Approx. 550 HP per tonne.

Pity I can't use it until 3rd gear...LOL!

as far as im aware, lil bandit didnt have nos. but then again i dont know its history well

Yes, that's my car, and no it doesn't have nitrous oxide.

I had it installed when the car was first built, but it was removed and sold, because it simply didn't need it...LOL!

Cheers

I imagine with NOS you would have left the rear axle behind!!!!!!

This was posted on another forum that I am on from someone who was actually at the event. Website is www.cruisescotland.net for anyone who is interested. Also you will notice on the homepage of that site it is saying about the Scottish Micra meet as the main heading :D

They said

"A Micra can actually Beat a Honda Civic Type R supercharged With Nos And only Came .2 of a second behind a skyline On the Quarter Mile Strip At crail Laughing

Skyline Ran a 12.014 at 123mph
Micra Ran a 12.217 at 125.3 mph

Pmsl Know the only reason why, It had a modified nissan pulsar engine in it. And Looks Totally Bog Standard

Bet he has had a few good laughable races in his time"

Little bandit was only .2 of a second slower, but had a faster speed at the end, once it gets traction its now a Skyline beater!

That's actually the guy (Walter Van Gool) that I beat in the final of the USSC.

We have a set agreement that times don't count, rather who is across the finish line first.

The score is currently 3-1 to me...LOL!

Cheers

Dave

P.S. On the race in which the car lost, I wasn't driving. Does that count then???

That little beast is fairly popular and well known now! I think Dave and the production team deserve a big well done! And thank you for making the micra a faster little hot hatch and inspiration for us all!

Daz!

Well done ;)

I must admit I have been well impressed with the performance of this vehicle.

The hard work and effort put into this is outstanding!!! I congratulate all envolved on an amazing working project!!

What does the future hold though ???? hmmm

I use Optimax, and nothing else.

I used a drum of Sunoco at the USSC day, but this was due to the day being very hot and I didn't want to risk DET.

There was no need after all...LOL!

Cheers

Dave

P.S. For the last time...IT ISN'T A PULSAR ENGINE!!!

Dave

P.S. This is soon to be changed as I am upgrading to a much bigger turbo and intake manifold.

The crank girdle basically braces the main bearing caps, holding the crankshaft, increasing bottom end rigidity and thus a more reliable engine, especially at high RPM. There is a slight loss in HP due to the oil clinging to the crankshaft, but I can live with that...LOL

The car is road legal...just, and passes the emissions test after a de-tune (if you know what I mean).

As for 0-60...maybies in the 5's due to traction issues.

yeah it's been posted up in general chat.

It's the little bandit :)

Kev

its not a pulsar engine

its a SR20DE engine that has been turbocharged......much more work involved..

and a hell of a lot more satisfying i bet.....haha...

you can hear the scooby guys voice at the end saying "bloody ell mate"

Yeah, I have to agree. It is no longer a sleeper, as it has become quite well known on the forums & around the country.

Still, it is great to see people's faces!
