Looking to replace the probably WELL overdue fluid in my Micras CVT box, Just wondering if people could point me to where I can buy suitable fluid, lots of people selling Dextron but I would like something which others have used.

In addition, do I require seals or magnetic plugs for when doing this swap? I've been hearing conflicting reports on this, and does anyone have a source where I could purchase some?

Hi

I replaced mine approx. 2 months ago, thou mine has a torque converter. My 2001 se uses NS1 fluid which is hard to find (only 1 carton at the main dealer) They tried to sell me NS2 fluid which states clearly on the bottle not for NS1 cvt boxes. There should be a label on the dipstick and underside of bonnet which tells you grade type. No gasket seal on my pan (liquid gasket seal is used)

Easy job if your careful, just remember pan has to be spotlessly clean and pan bolts tightened in sequence and to correct torque.

Ahh, you would be perfect, what is the torque setting for the bolts? my Haynes book makes no mention that I can see of this rather important fact.

Manual says 6Nm but did mine to 8
