K11 1.3 Check Engine lamp. Help wanted

Hey, first post in the search for greater knowledge :)

I was driving a friends Micra, the 1.3 16v one for a few days until it just died on me. When accelerating from a stop it just died, and at the same time the Engine lamp started flashing.

Now when you turn the ignition on the lamp keeps flashing and it wont ignite. The starter engine works, but i'd reckon theres no spark or fuel.

I've checked all the fuses, in the engine bay and inside the car.

Does anyone know of any "common" issue that causes this?

Regards
/Tom

hi tom

you need to retrieve the fault code first really, and you could drop some fuel down the throttlebody to see if it,s fuel or spark

check plug for a spark and if they are all sparking it eliminates the dizzy side of thing then when you turn the key can you hear the fuel pump engage just before you turn the engine over??

Could also be a nats problem.

like frank said you need the fault code really.

Okay, thanks for the answers

What mm is it to unscew the spark plugs. I dont have the right tool at home, only got bigger ones.

And also, the fault code is something i must turn to my local Nissan dealer to achieve, am I right?

Edit: Injecting it with engine starter would work just as fine as pouring some fuel into it, right?

tom

try a search on fault codes, or it might be on the ilexa forum.
a drop of petrol down the t/b would be better than using easystart
