Intermittent wipers do not work

The intermittent phase does not work for the wipers on my K11 (1999, 1.3 petrol). The wipers start rising till about midway, but do not return to the original position. The wipers work fine on continuous settings. They are not mechanically locked. I checked the system and everything moves smooth. The engine seems ok also.

Is there an electronic switch for the intermittent wipers? Some relay? Thanks for any pointers.

I replaced this box arrowed on my pre-facelift and it solved my issue of no intermittent wipers.
