Wipers don't work when sprinkling wind window

Hi, all,

I have a fault with the car (2002 reg, K11) - the wipers don't work when I sprinkle the front window. At the same time, wipers do work when I switch them during rain. I initially thought that it might be a fuse problem, but then realised that there is only one fuse for front wipers and it is fine because wipers work when not sprinkling. I suspect it might be some wire disconnection or some other fault. Could you tell me where and how can I check first?

Although mines an earlier k10 mine works in the same way. Have to spray the window then wipe by manually turning on the wipers
Is this a new issue you've noticed recently?

sounds like the wash signal from the wiper stork isn't getting to the wiper control box or the control box itself isn't working.

does intermittent wiper mode work?
if that's working fine then check the wash switch in the stork is working

Yeh my wiper was done in so i replaced stalk and all works well now

Yes, the problem appeared just recently. The wipers work in intermittent mode no problem, the water sprinkles too.
Is it difficult to replace the stalk? And is it difficult to source it second hand?

this happened to me i replaced the relay thing in engine bay next to wiper motor
