insurance change over fee?

hi guys im soon to be moving from my p reg vibe to an n reg lx (less millage and 4 door which i need as i have a 9 month old boy and hes to heavy to keep lugging into the back and strapping him in).

was just wondering do you have to pay a fee if you already have an existing policy and you want to change over to a different car i.e from the vibe to the lx?

my old man says he cant remember and my grandad said he thinks he had to pay £25, so just asking so i know in advance so i can make sure i got the funds ready and im not dissapointed etc.

The insurance company will probably just charge you an admin fee of like £20 or something.

Or they may stop insuring micras so you have to take out a new policy like i did

Admiral charge me £40 a time to swap a policy over.

when i changed from my corsa to my micra, all i had to pay was the extra amount . iirc the corsa was 2k to insure and the micra was 50quid extra so i had to pay that

bloody hell if they try to charge me £40 im going to lose it they get enough money out of me as it is for the policy!

It says in your policy booklet what they charge for printing a new certificate, have a read.

i phoned and they said no fee which is strange. Im going to change over on saturday so i hope they dont change their mind by then.
