wont work on the front because of the calipers needing to be inside the wheel. The back will tho. But is a pretty good fail I say, get some spacers if you want some poke! :D Or just get them banded!(Y)
 
Have you actually looked at a wheel? You'll notice that it is shaped arround the stud holes so that the nut has a seat, the wheel is also shaped so that there is a flat surface against the hub. Neither of these features are present if you flip the wheel over.

If you did try to fit them the wrong way round you might find yerself very quickly overtaken by your own wheels.
 
Franks blog will show you re-welding the wheel centre in the rim to change the offset. SuperLS has some banding in his blog - cutting the wheel rim into two, then welding a hoop of metal between the two halves increase the width of the rim.
