how effectives exhaust wrap

just wondering about this stuff, seen it around but dont know how genuine its claims are? will use it on my frankspeed mani and posibley janspeed downpipe. what we thinks peeps? (Y)

It does reduce the under body temperature however it will trap moisture near your manifold and cause it to rust, if i remember correctly Dave's Janspeed rusted to nothing within a few years due to the exhaust wrap.

was that stainless that rusted then - not clued up on exhausts

most likely mild steel from what i read about

would stainless rust at all or less? exhaust wrap sounds like a good idea for tracks but not so much on the roads...

Stainless should last longer but the higher temperatures may cause it to crack. It's not recommended for cast iron either.
